Keeping healthy while you are busy is a difficult task.
With the pressures of home, work and social obligations, it is often easy to forget that eating well and exercising regularly is essential to a healthy life. When stressed, it is easy for an individual to slip into habits that can have detrimental effects on her health. With a little planning and commitment, the busiest person can have a lifestyle that encompasses good, healthy meals and regular exercise. When a person is extremely busy, it may seem impossible for him to go to the gym three or four times a week. But in fact, it is not necessary for a person to go to the gym three or four times a week to get the exercise he needs. What is important is that the body is moving and the heart is made to beat a little faster for at least 20 minutes a day. This is easily accomplishable for even the busiest executive. Exercise In the OfficeIndividuals who work in an office may opt walk up the stairs to their office instead of waiting for the elevator. People who work in tall office buildings can choose to walk up two or three flights of stairs before catching the elevator to the floor where their office is located. In the office, a person can choose to walk to the desk of the individual she wishes to speak to instead of sending an email or picking up the phone. While she is reading a memo, letter or minutes, a person can walk around her office space. Phone calls can also be taken while walking around the office. Speaker phone or a headset can be used for this purpose. Exercise With KidsHaving children takes up a lot of time and energy. A parent who has their child exercise with them is not only taking care of himself, but instilling healthy habits in his offspring. Children can run short distances with their parents. Parents actively involved with the running and jumping games of their children will find that they have daily exercise. Exercise While ShoppingParking spots should be chosen that are not right in front of the store in order to ensure that more exercise is gained. The person who is shopping should challenge himself to get in and out of the store as fast as possible. Walking quickly will ensure that he is getting needed exercise for his body. Healthy MealsHealthy meals do not have to be a hassle. Individuals and families should try to make a large salad over the weekend that will last several days. Spending one weekend day a month fixing entrees for the rest of the month is an excellent way to ensure meals are healthy and balanced. These entrees can be frozen for later consumption. Fresh fruit can be bought and frozen as a healthy alternative to canned fruits. Limit Eating OutLimit the how much you eat out every week. Portions at restaurants are larger than average servings are supposed to be. If the choice is made to eat out, the individual should save half of the meal for later. Care should be taken to avoid dessert as they are often filled with fat and sugars that are detrimental to a healthy life. It is possible to eat well and exercise well while living a busy life. Being creative, careful planning and using time wisely will ensure that a person has a balanced, healthy life. This kind of life will be beneficial for the individual and those around them.
