Purification Through BreathingBreathing Can Release Pent-Up Negative Energy
There are so many benefits to healing breathing, discover some of the ways we can heal ourselves through breathing.
Most of us probably don’t know of the benefits associated with breathing properly or have forgotten to practice them regularly to receive those benefits. Let’s take a look at some of the methods of breathing and how they can enhance our lives. Cleansing BreathWhile breathing in through the nose imagine the air is coming in through the soles of your feet. Imagine the air traveling up through your body until it reaches your mouth where it is exhaled. Continue this process of pulling the air through your body from the soles of your feet for several breaths, exhaling slowly and calmly. Now following the same procedure, imagine as you draw air in through your feet and through your body you are sweeping along contracted energy within your system. As this contracted energy reaches your mouth release it smoothly and calmly with the exhaled air. Really feel the sweeping of energy and its release with each exhalation. As the contracted energy leaves your mouth with the exhaled air, see it, feel it, sense it burst into a shower of bright sparks. Continue for several minutes, noting all reactions and sensations. Follow with a few minutes of relaxed breathing. Deep-Release BreathingInhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth. At the end of the exhalation pause patiently and calmly until the body initiates the next inhalation. Every inhalation through the nose should be slow and calm followed by a slow and calm exhalation. The mouth should be open and the jaw relaxed as you wait for the body to inhale again. The key here is remaining conscious and focused while waiting for the body to inhale. Losing focus will allow the mind to wander and cause you to resort back to your unconscious breathing pattern. During each pause between breaths, allow the body to relax deeply and let go. Allow the whole body to let go, feel your body wonderfully letting go. Now breathe into specific body parts or areas in need of healing or relaxation and consciously release all tension from the body part or area with the exhalation. Relax even further during the pause. Continue this process for several breaths and then follow with a few minutes of relaxed breathing. Retention BreathInhale through the nose slowly and calmly; at the end of the inhalation, hold the breath in without straining or tensing, just hold the breath gently. While holding the breath in, feel the retained energy circulating and radiating throughout your body. Enjoy the feeling – pleasure spreading throughout the body! When exhaling release the breath slowly and calmly through the mouth and patiently wait for the next inhalation. Continue for several minutes. Now breath in through the nose and retain the breath focusing the held energy on a specific body part or areas without tension. Feel the sensation of pleasure until it is time to release the breath. Release the energy, pause between breaths and relax even deeper. Continue for several minutes and follow with relaxed breathing. Bringing consciousness to the act of breathing is of great physical, mental, emotional and spiritual benefit to human beings. While there are various intricate ways to practice consciousness breathing, there are also many simple, safe, accessible methods available to all people. Practice these methods of consciousness breathing and we’ll explore a few more techniques in the next article. “By stimulating and directing positive, joyous feelings we can change the essence of our inner patterns and experiences.” –Tarthang Tulku- Source: Breathing- Expanding Your Power and Energy by Michael Sky
