Finding what motivates you to implementing an active lifestyle is critical in generating and sustaining your momentum.

Beginning and staying on track with your working out, can present many challenges. Where do I start, what do I do, how can I find time to workout, I don’t feel like it, the list goes on and on. It seems the reasons for not working out are easier to produce then the reasons for. Think about it, particularly if you are currently not active, you no doubt have a plethora of excuses. Now don’t get the wrong impression, I’m not here to derogate you, on the contrary my intentions are to help you identify your personal inspiration(s) and take advantage of it/them.

Not until you have identified what excites your passion will you be able to pursue a lifestyle conducive to health and happiness or any other endeavor for that matter. Health, family, vanity, occupation, special occasion are a few reasons that come to mind, but inevitably you will have to determine what entices you. Once ascertained, utilize this factor to gain momentum.

We as individuals and have unique passions, dreams and desires; what inspires one person may have no affect on another. We are creatures of habit and this has both advantages and disadvantages.

Advantage: if you develop good habits it’s almost certain you will continue to do what you do! Disadvantages: if you develop bad habits it’s almost certain you will continue to do what you do! There is however some good news here, we have the ability to make choices and therefore can choose to change our habits if we so desire.

This is a serious endeavor and will require that you commit yourself to determining your impetus. There are components of your life, that, if examined will demonstrate the capacity to formulate and implement maneuvers conducive to success. Are you a parent, do you have a career, do you own a home, a car, do you have a diploma or degree, do you have a spouse, do you take a vacation each year? All of the above require action on your part and would indicate some level of success in your life. So it is not a question of whether or not you can be successful, you have already proved that. It is a matter of determining what will precipitate a lifestyle transition.
