Exercise offers many benefits; all you have to do is start moving more American

While reading an article on fitness recently, concerning the obesity problem in this country I was both pleased and disappointed simultaneously. I was happy to read that doctors are finally committed to fighting this problem while on the other hand the disappointment stems from the fact that this initiative was not taken earlier.

Being the positive minded person that I am, I will only focus on the fact that we are adding another weapon to our arsenal to combats this disease. After all, the more we can do to reduce the escalation of this disease the better off we will all be. Obesity hurts all of us on one level or another. More importantly, this is a disease each affected person, barring a medical condition, can begin to implement measures that will have immediate and lasting benefits. Exercise!

As a fitness professional I have the opportunity to speak with many people and what I have found is that even with the abundance of information available to us all there is a disconnect. The good news is that people seem to be receptive to learning and then implementing this information into their lives once it has been presented to them. I have also noticed that, we as fitness professionals, must continue to disseminate this information until it is received, sometimes it takes a few attempts before it is absorbed.

Helping people improve their lives, on all levels, is my passion and I will promulgate this knowledge as many ways as I can. Another observing I’ve made; the more people know about any given topic, the easier it is for them to make decisions. Choose to move.
